On Demon Wings ARC Giveaway!

I’m going to be embarking on a blog tour for On Demon Wings a week before the release. As I’ll be sending the participating bloggers ARCs of On Demon Wings ahead of time, I thought some lucky folks should share in the fun too.

(it’s early morning as I type this, pardon me if I don’t make sense).

As such, I’m going to do a giveaway. It will run from today (April 23rd) until Friday the 27th. This is for five e-format copies of On Demon Wings which will be emailed to the winners on May 2nd.

The only stipulation is that these are ARCs — Advanced Review Copies — so ideally I’d like the winners to review the book on GoodReads or Amazon/B&N (though the latter will have to go live there first on May 13th).

There was a lovely book tour last week for Lying Season/the series. I think you’ll get a kick out of this guest post I did for Bookish Babes:

The Dream Cast of Lying Season

I also revealed Where I Write and did a quick Interview.

I also want to share this wonderful review of Darkhouse from We Eat YA (Supernatural pics FTW)

The Shining is still probably the scariest movie I’ve ever seen. The old lady in the tub … the twins … *shivers*. Poltergeist runs a close 2nd, though.

The form wouldn’t let me enter everything in the little boxes, but I’m @123turtles on Twitter and I have liked you on Facebook. I was able to paste the link where I tweeted about the giveaway.

Scariest movie for me is a toss up between 13 Ghosts and House on Haunted Hill. I watched them once and that was more then enough for me.

Like someone else, I tried to answer the question but was unable to do it properly. I am going to buck the classic movie trend (even though I do heart The Exorcist). I was very scared when I recently watched The Haunting in Connecticut. I feel like there are actually a lot of common “scare” elements between that movie and the EIT books–ie fright from more psychological, or suspense oriented scares, rather than gross or psychotic ones. Also a kind of questioning–is what I am seeing real, or the product of medication or a mental break?–that is not answered until it’s too late to avoid the consequences of self doubt.

The only movie to ever give me nightmares was Event Horizon. I don’t know what it was about the movie, but it scared the crap out of me. I still love watching it even at the risk of having a nightmare. I consider myself a horror movie fanatic. I’ve watched all sorts, from the classic slashers, to the found footage to gore fests, it takes a lot to really scare me.

well i wanted to answer the question above to enter the contest but it didn’t work so i figured i’d answer here…

so my first thought was the exorcist, i remember that i watched it my sophomore year of college…alone…in my dormroom…with all the lights off…apparently i was an idiot! my roommate came home and found me huddled under my comforter with only a little opening to see through with the movie on and a box of mallomars in front of me…

but then i remembered the first time i saw the blair witch project…i had gotten a rough cut of the film and my boyfriend was visiting so we started watching it the last night he was in town around 11 or midnight…and when it was done we went to bed and the next day he left and that night, i had to sleep with all the lights on in my room because i was still completely freaked out by the movie!

so for me, i think that the blair witch project might be my most terrifying movie…

I dont have a scariest movie because none really scare me but I was told that The Cube was a seriously scary movie and all it did was make me laugh.…Now the first scary movie was Jason at the drive in when I was 6 years old. My family did not watch disney or any froo froo crap. My disney was Vincent Price, It came from outerspace, The Exorcist etc. Yeah I know it sounds really messed up but hey, nothing makes me scared now. I laugh in the face of danger.

  7. Cassandra Brown says

Hellraiser was one movie that really freaked me out. Those guys with the teeth and pin face…creepy.

  8. Melissa Buckalew says

he Exorcist is the scariest movie I’ve ever seen. I find it to be a very plausible story line. It makes since that if we have Good that we would also need Evil to balance us out.

  9. alicia marie says

the scariest movie i’ve ever seen was the ring. it doesn’t scare me anymore, but in the theaters it really flipped me out : )

  10. Georgeanna says

The Exorcist still wins. I had nightmares forever after that movie. Can’t watch it to this day.

  11. Carrie P. says

The Exorcist was still the scariest movie I’ve ever seen…well. actually only half way seen since I didn’t make it through the whole thing. Oh, and there’s also Poltergiest when the clown comes out from underneath the bed. GAHHHHHHH!

  12. Megan says

The scariest movie I’ve ever seen is a toss up between The Entity and The Exorcist. Both scared the hell out of me, but I think The Entity has a slight edge because of the creepy as hell music that comes on when the attacks occur. It gives me chills every time I watch it.

  13. Robert Zimmermann says

The scariest movie I have seen was Labyrinth. David Bowie and his.…tights…are very creepy. I love the movie though since it’s just so out there. I don’t really get scared by movies so this is the closest I can think of. Haha. It’s more of a WT* sorta of funny scare.

    • Esther Gerdzen says

My scariest movie was Poltergeist! I watched it when i was five years old i got some nightmares when that was over after that i could watch every scarie movie without nightmares :-)
