Old Blood (it’s not about vampires)

Thanks to Bret Taylor and Insomnia Stock, we have a cover for the novella Old Blood (#5.5). This book will be released in July as a novella told from Pippa’s (aka Creepy Clown Lady) POV. It will be longer than The Benson and will be available in paperback and e-format, HOWEVER, unlike The Benson, it can not be read as a standalone — meaning please don’t read this book until you’ve read On Demon Wings. It needs to go between ODW and Book #6, Into the Hollow.

Speaking of book #6 — I know I just finished On Demon Wings but I might just start writing Into the Hollow soon. I’ve got so much on the go so I may pick at it here and there but Perry and Dex have their hooks in me. DAMN THOSE TWO!

BTW congrats to the winners of the ODW ARCs! There will be more giveaways coming up :)

On Demon Wings ARC Giveaway!

I’m going to be embarking on a blog tour for On Demon Wings a week before the release. As I’ll be sending the participating bloggers ARCs of On Demon Wings ahead of time, I thought some lucky folks should share in the fun too.

(it’s early morning as I type this, pardon me if I don’t make sense).

As such, I’m going to do a giveaway. It will run from today (April 23rd) until Friday the 27th. This is for five e-format copies of On Demon Wings which will be emailed to the winners on May 2nd.

The only stipulation is that these are ARCs — Advanced Review Copies — so ideally I’d like the winners to review the book on GoodReads or Amazon/B&N (though the latter will have to go live there first on May 13th).

Cover Reveal — Lost in Wanderlust

I couldn’t be happier with this one. When I envisioned the cover for this book, I saw Jamie on a beach with beautiful sunset colors. What are the odds I’d stumble across the piece of artwork with a girl that looks exactly like Jamie to boot (wild blonde hair, nomad style)? Even though the book is told from Chris’s POV, Jamie is just as important of a character. And a Hugh Grant-ish journalist staring fondly at the sea doesn’t make for a good cover ;)

Design by the wonderful PhatPuppy Art.

I hope you’ll give my deviation into Contemporary Romance a chance. It’s hilarious, fun, and not the slightest bit cheesy or sappy. Well, maybe a little bit. And you’ll love Chris. I promise.

Meanwhile for all you Experiment in Terror fans, I came across these cool pins on Pinterest. I still don’t know what Pinterest in, but someone might!

Concert Photography

As I was perusing the interwebs today, I noticed that Soundgarden was making the news. And so was I. A few photos I took from my gig as a music journo and concert photographer have been making the rounds here: http://consequenceofsound.net/2012/04/check-out-soundgarden-live-to-rise/

and here: http://ology.com/post/67881/stream-live-to-rise-soundgarden-s-first-new-song-in-57-years

And man, do I love these photos? My camera was always kind of shitty so I’m super glad these turned out well enough to be flounced around the world. Oh and I do love shooting Cornell. :) I love talking to him too, just check out this interview I did with him.

That top photo, plus the following two, also made it into Consequence of Sound’s Best Photos of the Year List!

If you want to take a look at some of my concert photography, you can find them off of my articles here or click this link to get a select few of my faves!
